Positively Body Waxing Policies

1. Health and Safety Standards

  • Sanitation: All tools and equipment will be sanitized and disinfected according to Virginia State Board of Cosmetology standards. Single-use applicators and gloves will be used for each client to prevent cross-contamination.

  • Cleanliness: Treatment rooms and surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected between each client to maintain a hygienic environment.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Staff will wear gloves during all waxing services. Masks will be worn as needed to ensure client and staff safety.

2. Client Health and Pre-Appointment Requirements

  • Medical Conditions: Clients must inform the esthetician of any skin conditions, allergies, or medications that could affect the waxing service. A consultation form will be provided to gather this information.

  • Pre-Waxing Preparation: Clients should exfoliate the area to be waxed 24-48 hours before their appointment and avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and certain medications that may cause skin sensitivity.

  • Age Restrictions: Clients under 18 must have parental consent for waxing services. Proof of age may be required.

 

3. Appointment and Cancellation Policy

  • Appointments: Clients are encouraged to book appointments in advance. Walk-ins are accepted based on availability.

  • Cancellations: A 24-hour notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling. Failure to do so may result in a cancellation fee.

  • Late Arrivals: Clients arriving more than 10 minutes late may need to reschedule to avoid disrupting other appointments.

 

4. Service-Specific Policies

  • Brazilian Waxing: Only clients over the age of 18 can receive Brazilian waxing services.

  • Sensitive Skin: For clients with sensitive skin, a patch test will be conducted at least 24 hours before the full service to ensure there are no adverse reactions.

  • Post-Wax Care: Clients will be provided with post-wax care instructions, including avoiding heat exposure, tight clothing, and certain activities for 24 hours after waxing.

 

5. Professional Conduct and Ethics

  • Confidentiality: Client information will be kept confidential and only used for service-related purposes.

  • Professionalism: Staff will maintain a professional demeanor at all times, respecting client privacy and comfort.

  • Training and Certification: All estheticians are licensed and continuously trained in the latest waxing techniques and safety protocols as mandated by Virginia State laws.

 

6. Compliance with Virginia State Laws

  • Licensing: All practitioners at Positively Body Waxing are licensed by the Virginia Board for Barbers and Cosmetology.

  • Inspections: The facility is subject to regular inspections to ensure compliance with state health and safety regulations.

  • Documentation: Proper records will be maintained for each client, including health information and consent forms, as required by state regulations.
